Attorney Charlie Mellies brings his military training and intensity to deliver a well-planned and well-executed defense to our clients. Charlie has chosen a career focused exclusively on criminal law and providing an aggressive criminal defense to those accused. While Charlie handles many routine criminal matters (traffic and misdemeanors) for Dummit Fradin, he regularly defends individuals accused of extremely serious crimes such as murder and sex crimes.
Before joining our firm, he was a Judge Advocate in the U.S. Army and was an assistant public defender at the Forsyth County Office of the Public Defender. After completing his commitment in JAG corps, Charlie has continued his military service to our country and currently serves as a Captain in the 134th Legal Operations Detachment of the U.S. Army Reserve Judge Advocate General Corps.
While a law student at Wake Forest University School of Law, he was a member of the National Trial Team and was executive officer of the Demon Deacon ROTC Battalion. He is a regular speaker in training other attorneys on topics related to criminal law and DUI.
Mr. Mellies is also passionate about politics and serving his community, which prompted him to run for the 72nd District of the North Carolina House of Representatives. He currently serves on the Board of Directors for Santa’s Helpers, which is a non-profit organization that provides gifts to Winston-Salem children. As soon as you reach out to Charlie for legal assistance, he will begin creating a case strategy specifically aimed at delivering results. To obtain guidance regarding your case, schedule a free consultation as soon as possible, and put a true soldier to work fighting to protect your rights.
