In fact, he currently serves as a Captain in the 134th Legal Operations Detachment of the U.S. Army Reserve Judge Advocate General Corps. While a law student at Wake Forest University School of Law, he was a member of the National Trial Team and was executive officer of the Demon Deacon ROTC Battalion. He is a regular speaker in training other attorneys on topics related to criminal law and DUI.
Attorney Charlie Mellies is also passionate about politics and serving his community, which prompted him to run for the 72nd District of the North Carolina House of Representatives. He currently serves on the Board of Directors for Santa’s Helpers, which is a non-profit organization that provides gifts to Winston-Salem children.
