Attorney Betty F. Bailey is a passionate litigator with a strong knowledge in criminal defense, family law, education law, and advocating for children and youth with special needs in both the school system and the juvenile justice system. Ms. Bailey graduated with honors from the University of Florida with a Bachelor of Arts in History and a minor in Criminal Justice. During her senior year as an undergraduate student at the University of Florida, she travelled abroad and studied at Cambridge University in Cambridge, England for the summer. Thereafter, she earned her law degree from the University of Florida Fredric Levin College of Law. In law school, as a member of the University of Florida (UF) Trial Team, Ms. Bailey placed and competed in the UF Final Four Competition. In addition, she participated in the Chester Bedell Memorial Mock Trial Competition and was a member of the winning teams that won first place two years in a row.
Ms. Bailey started her legal career as a prosecutor for the Twelfth Judicial Circuit in Sarasota, Florida. She prosecuted misdemeanors, DWIs, juvenile delinquency cases, and domestic violence cases. Later, Ms. Bailey expanded her legal career to include the defense of criminal defendants and family law. As a criminal defense lawyer, she defended individuals accused of felonies, misdemeanors, and youth involved in the juvenile criminal justice system. In addition, she represented unwed fathers in custody, paternity, and child support matters, and protected the rights and property of her clients that were going through the difficult journey of divorce. Ms. Bailey has also earned a master’s degree in youth ministry, which has served her clients and their families well. Ms. Bailey is a former educator and school administrator and has been trained as a Guardian ad Litem in Metro-Atlanta, Georgia. Ms. Bailey works to leverage every experience, every skill, and every bit of knowledge she has acquired for the good of her clients.
